Arsenal striker Pierre-Emrick Aubameyang has been the subject of transfer speculations for quite sometime now, with the striker due to enter the final year of his contract next season. With total inactivity due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no further talks, with previous negotiations proving unsuccessful.

Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has now weighed in on the situation and feels the Gunners must keep the proven performer at all cost with it more expensive to replace him than to keep him.

Bacary Sagna : "He can’t go now because Arsenal are on the way to building something strong. They can’t afford to lose him. If they have to pay him, then just pay him because if they want someone else of his quality they cost £150m"

Sagna believes Aubameyang is worth every cent of the money and will require being paid less than would be needed to actively sought a replacement.

"So don’t spend this £150m, just spend £50m and give it to him. Its the same as van Persie and I think you have to learn from that situation. Auba deserves it. I'm not saying that because of his name or because he has scored a few goals. He’s the best striker in the league" he concluded.
